POMONA -- A police dog is being hailed a hero for tracking down a mentally-handicapped boy several miles away from his home. Tuesday evening the DPOA hosted an open house and ribbon cutting in tandem with the Pomona Chamber of Commerce. The turn out was wonderful. Mayor Elliott Rothman officiated over the ribbon cutting with assistance from Miss Pomona and her Court, Carolyn Hamming DPOA President, and Larry Egan, DPOA executive director. Councilmembers Rodriguez, Atchley, Lantz, and Saunders were also on hand.

Last evening La Verne's Bonita High School Jazz Ensemble performed "A Salute To Big Bands" at the FOX Theatre in downtown Pomona. The kids were a hit! The 2009 Christmas Parade Committee met recently at Joey's BBQ to compare notes and make suggestions for improvement, and develop a strategy for the 2010 parade.
