Tom Pathe

Statement: The influences of strong women in my life has resulted in the use of the female form as a type of self-portrature.  Through this approach I am able to investigate many themes at once, ranging from fear, attachment, and embrassment, to surrender and transcendence.  My intent is to continue my investigation into the nature of the self.  I employ a working method of free association using elementary forms, color and composition.  This process works with many levels of ambigioty evoking the feeling of a non-linear narrative.
