An Interview with Fr. Bill Moore SS.CC.

Explain to us the type of art you do?
I do highly textured acrylic mixed media paintings on canvas, as well as designed stained glass windows for two
churches.

What is your favorite time to be creative?
Mornings; 11 A.M. is magical. I usually work anywhere between 40 and 60 hours on multiple pieces.

How has the Arts Colony made you a better artist?
The interaction with other artists is stimulating, and I
find Pomona to be physically beautiful. It’s a very
good fit for me.

Do you have any shows coming up?
I’m currently showing in Claremont, at the “Square
i Gallery”. (see his site for the latest info www.frbillmoore.com)

Do you collect other artists work and whose?
I don’t really “collect”, as that term is commonly used. I have traded with other artists, and have been gifted with art from others. All these pieces have stories and hold meaning for me..

What tips can you give other artists who are thinking about moving to the Arts Colony?
I have found a gread deal of support here in the Colony,
and have tried (as best as a compulsively studio-bound
artist can) to offer my own support. My tip?…It’s a
community here; bring a willingness to share with everyone
else.

What is your favorite and least favorite downtown noise & smell?
My least favorite noise is loud, late night/early morning
drunk-talk and laughter…but trust me, I like a drink. My
favorite noise is any sound that comes out of a crow’s
beak. – There is a certain wild weed that yields this sweet smell each spring, you can find some in the empty lot next to the pool hall on Second Street. It stops me every time I walk
by.

How is life in the Arts Colony?
Life?…all life is messy; here it’s messy, beautiful and filled with meaning.

Do you have any Pets?
A cat: he’s an adopted Scottish Fold.

Favorite place to eat in Metro Pomona?
I like to have lunch every now and then at the “2nd Street Bistro”…the Ahi or Salmon.

Favorite place to hang out in Metro Pomona?
My Studio.
