A large crowd of approximately 100 area stakeholders met Tuesday evening in downtown Pomona to discuss the possibility of organizing a CICLAVIA bicycle event in Pomona and surrounding communities. Potential routes and sources of funding and support were discussed. The meeting was expected to draw 20 or so people, but five times that number came to show support and interest.
The Los Angeles CICLAVIA attracts well over 100,000 people and is supported by the city of Los Angeles wholeheartedly. With the support shown at Pomona’s first meeting is it possible that Pomona will attract as many people as Los Angeles?
Sand blasting and facade treatments are underway at the Glasshouse, 200 W. 2nd St. in Downtown Pomona. The building will soon sport a new coat of stucco to give it a bright, clean look. Rumor is that we may soon see projected images at night on the old Thrifty Drug Store monument sign. Way to go Glasshouse!
Thirty three people from RAP (Ride Around Pomona) met in downtown Pomona at Thomas Plaza for their bi-weekly ride around Pomona this morning.
The group ride is open to anyone who wants to join. The ride usually lasts an hour or so, traveling approximately 7 miles in total. It’s a great way to see the city from a different perspective. It’s also a fun way to meet new friends and interesting people. The ride starts at 8AM every other Saturday. Come on out and join the fun!
We hope you will view this as an opportunity to promote your business while honoring and supporting the outstanding youth of our community. Call 909-469-1121 for more information.
